10 really good reasons not to compare yourself to mommy bloggers

It happens to me nearly every day. I click on the profile of an adorable mommy blogger on Instagram with cute hair and long eyelashes (I mean, they all have really long eyelashes) and I just start scrolling. As I scroll, something starts happening. I start looking at her hair and wishing my hair looked like that. And then her clothes and nails and makeup. Suddenly I find myself overwhelmed by my own biting self-critique. Even though I?m a blogger and I know all their little tricks, I still fall into this trap.
When I find myself teetering over the dangerous edge of comparison, I have to take a step back and remind myself these things.
This is their full-time job.
Your favorite blogger?s daily life revolves around getting that perfect shot, plating her lunch just right so she can photograph it, and going to the park with her kids so she can post her sneakers pic that day. Whatever seems effortless is just smoke and mirrors. It actually takes tons of effort. I don?t want to portray all bloggers as heartless fake avatars, but you have to keep in mind that the date night photo you are fawning over probably took them 20 minutes to take and a cycle through Photoshop. Popular bloggers get paid. A lot.
