11 hilarious parenting Tweets to get you through a bad day
by Carolyn Robertson posted in Mom Stories
It took me four hours to get home from work last night.
The bus I was on inched its way through a sudden snowstorm for a couple of hours until we reached a major intersection that was blocked by a jack-knifed semi. So, we all got off, and I trudged through the snow to the nearest store, which happened to be a donut shop, where I sat with a cup of tea trying to get through to a cab.
Now, I live in a city that is notorious for handling winter weather just terribly. As soon as the streets turn white there is absolute chaos and getting anywhere is nearly impossible. So I knew that I would probably be sitting there for a while.
I texted my mom, who was watching my two daughters, throughout the evening to let them all know I was safe and would be home as soon as humanly possible. When I finally dragged myself, cold and wet and miserable, through the front door at 9:00 p.m., guess what the first words out of my kids' mouths were"
"Did you bring us some donuts""
(And I had, of course.)
Let this little story serve as a reminder that if you got into parenting for the undying gratitude... well, you could be waiting quite a while.
Here are some stories - told in 140 characters or less - from other parents who managed to turn their own not-so-great parenting moments into pretty hilarious Tweets. Enjoy!
