12 Days of Cookies: Gingerbread Crackles

One of my mom and grandma's specialties during the holidays is the chocolate crackle cookie. These cookies have such a place in my heart because I've had them every single Christmas for my entire life. I also think they're delicious and so pretty with the powdered sugar crackled-coating.
I wondered what would happen if I did spice cookie that had that same crackle effect. Would they be as pretty" Taste as good"

All the beauty of a crackle cookie with all the holiday cheer of spices like cinnamon, ginger and cloves. These are soft and tender with just the slightest crunch around the edges. Really and truly one of the best spice cookies I've ever had.

Gingerbread Crackles
Don't be afraid to really coat these dough balls in powdered sugar. It makes for a better "crackle" after baking.
2 1/4 cups unbleached all-purpose flour (11 1/4 ounces)
2/3 cup dark brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
