I love buying stocking stuffers. There's no self-imposed gift buying pressure, and you can get away by stuffing you're kids' stockings with very practical items you'd buy anyway.
Growing up our stockings weren't really part of the tradition. My mom, I mean Santa, would put in a few clementines, a chocolate orange and a couple of candy canes.
