2 new sound machines we love (and 2 old faves)

Many -- maybe even most -- babies love listening to music or other soothing sounds. But it has to be the right soothing sounds. When they don't like the noise they're hearing, they'll look around fretfully, maybe even cry. When they like what they hear, they smile, kick their legs happily, sometimes even peacefully fall right to sleep, and stay that way.
My infant daughter wailed inconsolably every single time we put her in her crib unless we played Stevie Wonder's "Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing" on repeat. No other song would do. White noise, ocean sounds, trickling water with frog peeps, nope. Stevie Wonder, or she cried.
At the time, I dealt with it by hovering near the crib with a CD and a CD player, pressing "repeat" until she finally blessedly fell asleep. My life would have been much easier if I'd had one of these two cool new sound machines that let parents control exactly what sounds and songs their babies hear. 1. snu:mee
