2 things that actually help moms after pregnancy loss (and 3 that so don't)

Pregnancy loss is the most brutal, heartbreaking, life-altering experience I have, by far, ever been through. I am still going through it, and I don't expect that to change anytime soon; the sadness, anger, guilt, and hopelessness feel like they will stretch on forever.
A small ray of light that has managed to slice through the fog of my grief is how many people have reached out in an effort to help: family members, friends, colleagues, neighbors, as well as folks I don't even know online. I had no idea so many individuals care so much about me and my family, and I am so deeply touched, and grateful.
The truth is, no one can take away my pain. But along this journey, I have learned that some gestures really, truly help, while others only serve to highlight the agony of losing a baby. I'm sharing those things that I've found to be a great comfort, and those I haven't, in the hope that if someone you know finds themselves in this horrible, awful, excruciating situation, you can lessen their burden instead of adding to it.
Here's what truly kind people in my life have done to help me and my family in the wake of our tragedy:
Say this happened to them. The most helpful thing by far that anyone has done for me, is to share a story of how they went through a loss, too. Because I have never, ever felt more alone than now. Just reading a text or Facebook comment that says, ?I?ve been there,? has lifted me out of some of my darkest moments so...
