by Deidra Romero posted in Parenting
Let's face it. Everyone gets bored during summer. I break out in hives if I am home all day.
I like to be active with my kids during summer break, but I don?t like high-maintenance activities that require a ton of work. I want easy, fun things that don't demand a lot of prep time. Depending on how old your kids are, they may be able to do some of these without your supervision, which is a double WIN! Here are my top 25 classic summer activities that even parents will enjoy!
Make a picnic lunch and visit a park you?ve never been to.
Have a water day with friends. Find a local splash pad, put out the sprinkler or make a DIY slip-n-slide.
Go camping. Or just pretend camp in your backyard or living room!
Have a movie night?complete with pizza and popcorn! Catch fireflies.
Make a lemonade stand. There are a lot of lessons your kids can learn from this simple summer activity.
Tie-dye old T-shirts. Tie-dye is totally back! You can purchase some easy kits on Amazon or DIY it with food-coloring.
Build a birdhouse. Hint: use a milk carton!
Host a game night and invite the neighbors over.
Eat snowcones.
Go berry picking.
Track down an ice cream truck.
Host a barbecue. Let the kids pick and plan the menu!
Blow bubbles or make a giant bubble-maker.
Plant an herb garden.
Play with chalk. Encourage them to illustrate a story or write cheerful messages for the neighbors.
Go on a hike.
