5 moments I'm glad I had my camera ready

I purchased my first fancy camera not long after I found out I was pregnant with my daughter. I knew I wanted to be able to take photos during my pregnancy and pictures of my baby after she was born. Little did I know I?d get hooked.
I hit the ground running, read the manual from cover to cover, tried not to stay in ?auto? mode for long, and fell completely in love with photography, specifically photographs of my family. Well, 5 years and 3 Canons later, I didn?t expect for some of the moments I?ve captured to have such an impact on my life. While there are countless moments that wouldn?t have been the same without my DSLR, I?m narrowing it down to 5 today.
1. The natural beauty of my pregnancies: As much as it would have been fun to have a weekly maternity shoot to document my growing belly, I couldn't afford that. But I was able to use the wireless remote capabilities and a tripod to take my own weekly photos! Crazy to think there was another human in there!
2. Tiny details: They?re never going to be this small again. Believe me, I know. I'm so glad I captured a lot of those tiny details when they were small. The secret is good lighting and is possible, a good macro lens. Position yourself near a window so the best light will cast on your baby and get in close!
