If you made a word cloud of everything going through a new parents' mind the first year after a baby is born, there'd be one giant word right in the middle: sleep. Sleep! You never realized how precious it was when you got enough of it; you never knew what tired could be until you were awakened every few hours (or few minutes) every single night for months. On. End. And now you stumble through life like a reanimated corpse, always wondering if you actually said the thing you were just thinking aloud" Or was it just a thought"

The repetitive motion of a swing often soothes infants to sleep, but it's not safe to allow babies to sleep in traditional sit-up swings.
