When I was in high school I would set my alarm clock to go off early every day to wash and style my hair. I cared way too much what I looked like then. When I went out into the working world and had to commute into the city each day, I began washing my hair every other day to save time. But then I became a mom -- and suddenly I wasn't able to wash my hair more than once every three or four days.

The reality is I am taking care of so many people (four kids to be exact), am often running on fumes, and have a never-ending to-do list that I just can't keep up with constant hair washing.
So, over these past eight years, I have mastered five dirty-hair styles for my long hair that keeps it looking cool and trendy, while I am chasing after my kids. By creating braids, low ponytails, and messy buns, I have been able to keep my hair looking stylish right up until the next time I can wash it. Also, these looks are great for keeping my hair out of my face and out of the way, which is handy when I am chasing after my kids.

Now that I have mastered these quick and easy hairstyles, it's time to try them out on my daughters' hair next.
