After a seemingly endless wait, April the giraffe and her newborn baby boy are resting comfortably at Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville, New York. Meanwhile, the livestream of the birth on YouTube racked up more than 232 million live views.

A pregnant woman will have her baby when she?s good and ready.
After my own due date came and went, I received well-intentioned texts, emails, and phone calls about the status of the baby, and it only made me grouchy. With every ?Where?s the baby"? and ?Have you had that baby yet"? the subtext felt more like, ?You?re doing pregnancy all wrong. What?s the matter with you"? (And trust me, I tried all the tricks.) So when someone casually said, ?You should have that baby already,? I was ready to throw punches. Really" GREAT IDEA. After 40 weeks of pregnancy, I wasn?t sure what I should do next. But maybe I should HAVE THE BABY! Why didn?t I think of that"

We?ve all been there.
In the midst of birth, April walked around with hooves protruding from her bum for what felt like 87 years.
At first I thought it?s a good thing April doesn?t have access to the Internet, because -- wow -- a butt kickstand is not a great look for anyone. But then I realized, who among us hasn?t walked around with hooves hanging out of her butt" (Well ? okay. Me neither. I?m speaking figuratively here.)
