You need to pack EVERYTHING for a day-long ski trip with kids.
We took our three small children to the mountains for the day. I don't know how anyone convinced us to do it. I'll take 3 kids to the beach by myself any day of the week, but packing for a day-long ski trip, no thanks. If we were going for a week I would have been game, but it was so! much! work! for about 2 hours on the mountain.
*Don't forget to multiply every single item on this list by three because we have three kids. And then don't forget to leave room in the trunk for the adults' stuff too.
Here's what I packed for a one-day ski trip with kids:
Mittens for walking from the car to the lodge and back again. Ski gloves that they constantly complained about for not being tight enough.
Snowsuits that took up a large tote by themselves.
Neckwarmers and hats for all.
Undershirt, fleece pants, ski socks. A complete second set for each child when the first set inevitably got wet. There's a lot of falling when you're learning to ski!
Regular socks for after the ski day was over and the ski socks were wet and yucky.
Large plastic bags and wet bags for the wet gear.
Ski helmets, skis, and ski boots.
Snacks, but not just regular snacks. Snacks for hungry dinosaur babies who roar for food after 10 minutes on the slopes.
Water and juice.
Fleece blankets for the car ride up.
Regular shoes and co...
