6 fundamental truths of childbirth you may not be ready for

I have some news: my latest little guy arrived August 1st. Woohoo! Since this was my third hurrah in the hospital, I thought I would drop some serious truths. Consider this a little sidebar for your "What to Expect When You're Expecting."
#1: Your private parts are no longer private.
Be prepared to toss your modesty out the window when you check into the hospital. Remember: the doctors and nurses have seen it all, so...no shame, girl! I stopped counting when 20 staff members had seen my business during this last stay. Unfortunately, my labor was dragging on and I had my dilation checked at least 5 times. Since I had a resident as my doctor, with med students following, each time they checked my dilation, I had 2-3 hands jammed in my vagina. It was the worst. And it's not just your vagina, either -- after you deliver, your girls are displayed for nursing 24/7. #2: No apologies during childbirth.
I'm usually pretty calm and collected, but during childbirth you know not to mess with me. I've yelled at my husband and the stream of words coming out of my mouth were shocking. But I'm not apologizing for it. No way! When you're pushing a human from your body, you're free to say and do whatever you want. Warn your significant other about hand squeezes! I always wonder how many bones are broken in the delivery room.
#3: Eat before you head to the hospital.
