6 tips for raising a healthy eater

One of the questions I find myself asking pediatricians (and parents who seem to have it together better than I do) is, "How can I raise a healthy eater""
This is a big priority for me and although my kids are slowly but surely coming around, it has been a long process. I've received a lot of advice along the way that I'd love to pass on to you to give you a head start. One thing I know is the more fun you make it, the more success you will have. So don't stress!
Here are six things to remember when training a healthy eater:
1. Start early: When my daughter was born, I did a much better job of serving healthy foods than I did when my son came along and things were more chaotic. I think that?s a big reason why she's a better eater now. It's never too soon to start teaching your kids a healthy diet. If you offer your babies a nice variety of fruits and veggies from the very beginning, they?ll come to expect them as normal and delicious versus something they?re being forced to eat.
2. If at first you don't succeed, try and try again: Just because your toddler refuses to eat broccoli doesn?t mean you should give up. Instead of being a short-order cook and making them a different meal, offer the food over and over. Eventually it will become familiar which increases their chances of trying -- and maybe even liking -- it!
