It's easy to get sucked into thinking everyone else's life is perfect. We scroll through the glossy images that make up other moms' Facebook and Instagram feeds, feeling convinced they are as happy and together as they look. But what if you could know what they were actually thinking behind the lens" Because despite the saying that a picture says a thousand words, I believe it only shows part of the story.
Here are eight picture-perfect moments from when I was a new mom, and what I was actually thinking in each. I hope by sharing these images, a mom who is feeling alone or down about how not perfect her life is, will know she is not alone.
I remember feeling so exhausted when this picture was taken, as I was traveling alone with a toddler. Behind the smile, I'm thinking, "I just want to go home."

In this photo, I was using my baby to cover me up, as this was my first time wearing a bikini since giving birth. Although I was smiling, I felt really self-conscious.
