I'm a mom. And I stay home with my child. That categorizes me as a stay-at-home mom (also known as a "SAHM"). While I do many other things -- okay, maybe a few other things, kids take up a lot of time -- many people don't look beyond my SAHM role.
I?m the first to admit that I?m often consumed with motherhood. My son is my joy, my focus. Right now, at least. Sure, I don?t go to an office each day. I?m not building a brand or researching deadly diseases.  I am, however, raising a tiny human. Keeping him alive. Teaching him to be a kind and compassionate member of society.
That matters, too.
