A virtual high five to all the good enough moms

Some days I totally rock motherhood. Some days I think, why aren't there medals and trophies" Why aren't there large orange coolers full of chardonnay being dumped on my head"
I mean, moms are already viciously competitive so why shouldn't we have the fun things that go along with actually competing" Probably because the only people who clearly lose when moms compete are our kids.
This notion reminds me of that heartwarming Similac commercial from a couple years back, appropriately titled Mother ?Hood. Sometimes I just watch it and cry for fun...because that?s what crazy moms do.
Gosh, that beautiful, smiley baby in the end. I cry EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
Guys, motherhood is so hard. We're all just trying to keep our kids alive and maybe make sure we schedule our weekly shower on the same day as parent-teacher conferences. Why the heck are we so hard on one another" Trust me, I'm totally guilty too.
As Mother's Day looms in the very near future, I am not only reminded of my own mom, but of those other moms who are just doing their very darn best -- whether they have or haven?t showered in the last three days.
This Mother's Day, let?s do something crazy. Let?s send cards and chocolates to the mom whose kids ruin every church service. Let?s drop off a casserole to the frazzled mom down the street whose kids are always half-naked (I thank you all for the full freezer in advance).
