Alanis Morissette: Postpartum depression "4 times worse" this time

Having been through a brutal battle with postpartum depression after her son Ever was born in 2010, Alanis Morissette was ready for it the second time around. Even so, more than a year after the birth of her daughter, the singer admits she still struggles daily.
Alanis tells PEOPLE that PPD hit within hours of Onyx's delivery in July 2016, and despite a regime of medication, homeopathic remedies, exercise and therapy, it has yet to subside.
"There are days I?m debilitated to the point where I can barely move," admits the mom-of-two in an emotional interview, adding, "I show up because I see my little kids' faces."
This isn't the first time Alanis, 43, has opened up about her experience with PPD. She's spoken in the past about the dark early days of motherhood with Ever, saying, "The degree and intensity of my post-natal depression shocked me.... what surprised me this time was the physical pain. I hadn?t realized the depths to which you can ache ? limbs, back, torso, head, everything hurt ? and it went on for 15 months. I felt as if I was covered in tar and everything took 50 times more effort than normal." This time, she says, has been "four times worse."
