Getting an infant to drift off into dreamland (and stay there!) isn?t always easy, but establishing a few nighttime rituals can make the awake-to-asleep transition a bit smoother.
Establishing a bedtime routine with my baby is a simple way to help her little body wind down and let her know it will soon be time to sleep. It's also allows me to set aside special moments to connect with just my youngest daughter. With two other small children running me around, this isn't always an easy feat. Here's the step-by-step bedtime routine I use for my 3-month-old daughter:
1. Bath time: A nice, warm bath typically kicks off our bedtime ritual as we wind down in the evening. Even though Baby A is a fairly high-maintenance baby -- meaning we have to be holding or wearing her most of the day or she?s not a happy camper -- she is perfectly content smiling up at me from her little pink tub while I'm washing her.
