Breastfeeding or pumping" These 12 things make it easier
by Lindsay Pinchuk posted in Products & Prizes
Breastfeeding can be hard. But ask many moms and they'll tell you breastfeeding their baby was one of the most rewarding experiences they have had as a parent. My motto is: Do what's best for you. Your best is good enough, whether you wind up feeding your baby with the breast, the bottle, or both.Â
If you do choose to breastfeed or pump here are some of my favorite products for making it as easy and comfortable as possible.
1. Motherlove Nipple Cream: This certified organic and all-natural salve offers relief for sore and cracked nipples. Have some of this on standby, especially in the beginning when your body is still getting used to nursing. (Target, $9.95)
2. Bamboobies Washable Nursing Pads: Made of incredibly soft bamboo, these washable pads are super-absorbent for leaks. (Bamboobies.com, starting at $14.99) 3. mOmma by Lansinoh Bottle: When the time comes to introduce a bottle, many lactation consultants will recommend this one. For some reason, many babies will take this bottle -- even those who refuse others. (Target, $5.59)
4. Evenflo Advanced Milk Storage Bags:Â If you are going to pump and freeze milk for your baby -- especially if you are going back to an office job after maternity leave -- these are great bags that do the job. (Wal-Mart, $5.87)
5. Medela Quick Clean Micro-Steam Bags and Quick Clean Wipes: Â If you plan to pump and are going back to work these two items will help you clean your pump quickly....
