C-section scorn" "Nope!" say birth photographers; see their beautiful shots

By now, nearly every woman on earth, pregnant or not, has seen the still-unsubstantiated text exchange between a mom to be and a birth photographer, in which the unknown photographer chastises the mama for having a c-section. In the vile series of texts, the birth photographer says "surgery isn't birth," ultimately refusing to take the photos. She also warns not "cut corners so early in the game" since "this motherhood job is hard."
Many have called out the exchange as fake, and now, the birth photography community is clapping back in a big way. One site, Birth Becomes Her, published a post entitled, "What birth photographers really think of cesarean births." In it, the site's founders, Monet Moutrie and Jennifer Mason, write, "The birth photographers I know LOVE cesarean birth stories. In fact, many of us find cesarean births to be the most rewarding stories we can capture." "Cesarean moms are some of the bravest and strongest women we know," the post continues. "In the moments leading up to surgery, a cesarean mother must hold onto the strong and fierce love she has for her baby. She lets fear wash over her...and then she lets it drift away. Although she knows a cesarean birth is the best choice for her or her baby, she also knows she?ll endure major surgery with real wounds and scars."
