If you?ve had a child in the past 10 years, there?s a good chance you?ve heard of cord blood and know the benefits. If you haven?t, well, we can assure you it?s NOT the juice in that cord that powers your cell phone!
This is why every July during Cord Blood Awareness Month we work together with our partners to help boost public knowledge about the potential of cord blood, and celebrate the advances in research and clinical trials.
This year, we decided to have a little fun with it, joining forces with our friends at CBR® to host Mom Games: The Master Edition at our headquarters in San Francisco. Our host (and Director of Global Social Media and Community) Rebecca Michals was joined by two BabyCenter moms and CBR employees Michelle Duncan and Kevin Hsieh to take part in fun challenges and trivia contests to win prizes, and, of course, learn more about cord blood. Blogger Brandi Riley and BabyCenter's Dominique De Lope answered questions like "How many diapers does your baby go through in a month"" (Answer: 360 diapers -- WHOA!!) and "What percentage of women have a birth plan"" (Answer: 50 percent), and competed to see who could change a diaper the fastest or pack a diaper bag.
