Celebrate with "the girls" at a breastfeeding shower

It's one of those things everyone celebrates as natural and beautiful, but it can actually be really hard and some of us feel weird and it doesn't always come naturally to us, thank you very much. I'm convinced if I hadn't had a support system while I was breastfeeding, I wouldn't have done it as long as I did.
So what better way to celebrate that support system than by having a to-do for the ta-tas"
Sascha Mayer, co-founder and CEO of Mamava--a company dedicated to "transforming the culture of breastfeeding"-- celebrated with some Mamava moms-to-be by throwing them a breastfeeding shower. And it was as glorious as you'd imagine.

And there were party games. Let's admit it, we've all wanted to beat the crap out of our breast pump on occasion, so at this shower -- a pumpyata to allow you to relieve your aggressions.
Although the shower was hilariously funny, Sascha says it accomplished a greater purpose than just an afternoon of amusement. Her friends came away with "everything they need to feel supported to achieve their breastfeeding goals -- the physical, emotional and intellectual support to help them power through. From the gear, to the community, to the resources and the love."
She also said traditional registries don't necessarily include breastfeeding essentials, so this was a way to help moms get the things they'll need.
