Confessions, and a few tips, from an accidental diaper hoarder

After finding out the sex of our baby last March, the first thing I did was start shopping. Since he was our first boy -- and I'd already gotten rid of all baby items -- I had plenty of shopping to do. Every trip to the grocery store, I added a package of wipes or diapers. If I saw a sale, I'd stock up on clothes we might need.
Flash-forward to present day and I totally realized I made a mistake: I didn't keep receipts! Liam flew through newborn and size 1 diapers, leaving us with way too many diapers stacked in our basement. You can easily exchange for different sizes...if you remember where you got them.
Tip: use the same card for baby purchases. I've been running around town exchanging diapers all week, plus trying to remember which card I put them on. Save yourself time by marking the diapers with a sticky note telling where you got them. Target lets you look up purchases if you don't have a receipt, which was a lifesaver for us! You can also look up purchases from your registry at most locations. When you buy items, just add them to your registry to keep track.
If you receive gifts with gift receipts, tape them to the item, if possible. Try not to open everything right away, just in case you don't end up using them!
As far as clothes are concerned, it might be hard to guesstimate your baby's size in the future, but you can assume they'll be at least true to size (3 months at 3 months, etc).
