Cool off with this summer water balloon game

As a summer birthday girl, I was always jealous of you guys who got to celebrate during the school year.
Bringing in cupcakes, having everyone sing to you, being a celebrity for the day. You guys were so cool.
I'm sure this is a case of "the grass is always greener" and you're all jealous of those of us who had summer parties outdoors, playing in the water and eating ice cream in our bathing suits. Such is life.
I first played this game at my 8th grade birthday party, when I turned 13. It was a blast, and it still holds up. You can tone it down to play just with your own kids, or scale it for a bigger birthday party, or youth group event, or block party or something. Super fun. And -- of course -- if you do it right, people get soaked. The best part! Water Balloon Colander Toss
Supplies:
water balloons (15-20 per team)
buckets for each team (to keep the water balloons in)
one colander for each team
Instructions:
FOR A TEAM:
Have each team make a line next to each other, like a relay. Place the bucket of water balloons at the front of the line, and place the colanders in front of each team, about 25 feet away (you can vary this, depending on how old the kids are and how well they throw). Each team picks one person to go to the colander and put it on his head. Then the remaining members take turns coming to the front of the line and throwing their balloon into the colander.
