Guys, there's really no way to sugarcoat this, so I'm just going to say it: Potty training sucks. I've been through it with two children already and honestly, I'm dragging my feet with kid number three. Because I know exactly what I'm getting myself into.
One of the more frustrating aspects of potty training, to me, is that a child can be 100-percent trained during the day -- but may still be wetting the bed months (and sometimes years) later. I'm here to tell you that cleaning up pee-soaked sheets and washing stinky pajamas gets old. And fast.
This brilliant Kickstarter campaign by parents who have been there, done that, could very well be the answer to the dreaded bedwetting problem. The product is called Peejamas, and they claim to absorb, capture and contain more than 10 times their weight in liquid. (Sign me up!) "Back when my then-3-year-old son was potty training, he was totally potty-trained during the day. Then the night rolled around, and we had this dilemma," Peejamas founder, Craig Hammond explains in the promotional video. "Do we use the crutch of a diaper and put him in it and guarantee that he's going to pee and not learn faster" Or do we roll the dice and not put him in a diaper and possibly wake up to wet sheets and a stained mattress -- and worst of all, me and my wife in a giant puddle of his pee.
