Dear maternity swimsuit designers, is this some kind of cruel joke"

To my kind and gentle readers, a warning: Rant ahead. More accurately, pregnancy-hormone induced rant ahead.
Last night I spent an hour online looking for a maternity bathing suit. I mean, those three words shouldn?t even be strung together as a search term, because it?s just cruel. But here I am, pregnant, facing an ENTIRE summer, and I will need a flipping maternity bathing suit, okay"
And so I go online, innocently trusting the clothes-makers of today to treat us pregnant women with some shred of dignity. Like, maybe we don?t want to wear bathing suits that look like what our grandmas sport to the beach. But that is all I could find.
I browsed site after site in vain, praying to come across just one non-matronly swimsuit. Just one bathing suit that doesn?t cover up every inch of my body as though I should be ashamed of my burgeoning belly and much-larger-than-usual boobs. Hey, here?s a thought: When even the model looks schleppy and miserable in the maternity bathing suit, it?s gonna look 10 times worse on a real person like me! Who isn?t 5?10?. Who gained weight somewhere other than in a perfectly-shaped, fake-looking basketball belly.
Oh, and regarding the few two-pieces I saw, here?s a newsflash! I can?t buy just a size small, medium, or large. Because I?m like an XXXXXL on top now, but on the bottom that size will fall right down to my aching feet. WHY, WHY, WHY can?t any maternity bathing suit be sold as separates"...
