Dear society, you make me nervous for motherhood

I?m now eight weeks away from becoming a mother for the first time. And I?m more scared than ever.
For many reasons my mind has been running rampant, and I think it?s normal at this stage in my pregnancy. I want to be a good mother. I don?t want my son to ever be hurting or sick. And no matter how I try, I can?t quiet my fears that I will run out of diapers and wipes, an ongoing nightmare I?ve been having for months now!
Lately I?ve had even more concerns creep into my mind, new ones that I hadn't yet considered. Society ? rather society?s attitude and treatment toward parents and children in certain situations ? has me wondering what will be in store for me when my son is born. And scared of the possibilities. It started when a friend posted a photo on Facebook from a recent flight, an image I?ve seen in similar forms several times now. Parents of a small child had handed out packets with candy and earplugs to those seated near them before the flight took off, something of a pre-apology should their child cry during the flight.
It was thoughtful and considerate of the parent to do this. But why was this necessary" Babies cry, it?s normal. Parents with small children have just as much of a right to be on an airplane as the rest of us. Of course I?ve been on a flight with a crying baby, and while it wasn?t ideal I was never angry toward the baby or the parents. As a matter of fact, I?ve had adult seat mates who have caused a big...
