Debbie Reynolds' tragic last words: "I want to be with Carrie"

The passing of Debbie Reynolds one day after her daughter, Carrie Fisher, is yet another heartbreaking celebrity life lost in 2016. It's also a testament to the strong, unyielding bond Reynolds had with her daughter over the decades.
Among Reynolds' last words, according to her son Todd Fisher, were, ?I miss her so much, I want to be with Carrie,? reports TMZ. (Fisher, 60, the actor behind Star Wars' iconic Princess Leia died Tuesday, after suffering a heart attack aboard a plane last week.) Just 15 minutes after making this comment, the Oscar-nominated singer-actor -- widely known for her role in Singin' in the Rain -- was rushed to the hospital Wednesday morning when she began having trouble breathing. Reynolds, 84, experienced what appears to have been a stroke and died a few hours later.
Aside from a rough patch when Fisher was in her 20s, mother and daughter have remained close through the decades -- through Reynolds' divorces and bankruptcy, Fisher's ongoing mental health struggles with bipolar disorder, along with Fisher's battle against drug addiction. Their relationship has been complicated at times, but these conflicts were mostly resolved in recent years. "I would say that Carrie and I have finally found happiness," Reynolds told Oprah Winfrey in 2011. "I admire her strength and survival."
