Deceptively simple vanilla strawberry cake

For some reason, my kids are obsessed with vanilla cake. Vanilla" Who is obsessed with vanilla over chocolate" They're clearly not my children, but all three of them would prefer plain white wedding cake over any chocolate concoction.
They asked me to whip one up last Friday because Grandma and Grandpa were coming to town. I didn't have much time, but I did have this super delicious "doctored" chocolate cake mix recipe that I've been using for years. I figured the same concepts could be applied to a white cake mix and I was SO right. Got a cake mix" Add a little pudding mix, extra eggs, sour cream and vanilla and you have the most delicious, homemade-tasting cake.
I served it with strawberries because it seemed perfect for Mother's Day. I will make this one again and again; it's deceptively simple yet deliciously good.
Deceptively Simple Vanilla Cake with Strawberries
1 white boxed cake mix without pudding added (I use Duncan Hines)
1 four-serving size vanilla instant pudding
4 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup canola oil
1 cup sour cream (light is fine)
1 tablespoon vanilla
Fresh strawberries
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 13x9 inch pan.
Place all ingredients into a large bowl. Using an electric mixer, mix ingredients together until just incorporated and you have a smooth batter.
