Don't lose your mind when Daylight Saving Time ends

It's coming.
You have a week and a half to get ready, but make no mistake. The end of Daylight Saving Time will be here on Sunday, November 5th, and, unless you live in Arizona, life as you know it will change.
I used to love the end of Daylight Saving Time. It meant staying up late Saturday night and getting a blissful extra hour of sleep on Sunday. Not any more. Babies, as it turns out, do not actually care if we turn our clocks back. They still go on waking up at the same time their bodies tell them to, regardless of whether we gain an hour or not.
Actually, this goes on for years -- even my older kids still wake up too early and can't fall back asleep. Which means tired, grumpy kids for at least a week afterward around here. This year, I'm going to try and plan better. Fortunately, there are some great time-change resources here on the BabyCenter blog. And since you're reading this with plenty of time before the Big Day, there are even things you can start doing now to help your baby or young child adjust.
1. Gradually move bedtimes and wake-up times.
You can start now. Each night, try moving bedtime back by 10 minutes, and get everyone up 10 minutes later in the morning. You can even try moving your time one night, then staying with that time for a few nights, then move it back a little more until everyone's adjusted.
