Ryan Reynolds has some sage advice for all the expectant dads out there.
A father himself - he has two daughters with his wife Blake Lively - the Deadpool star is practically an expert when it comes to what to expect in the delivery room. He's decided to share that hard-earned wisdom with other men who are just getting ready to make the leap into parenthood.
Here's what the 2016 GQ Man of the Year told the magazine about how to handle childbirth:
Be in the room. You're not Don Draper.
Be judicious with the photographs you take, because a photo of your daughter crowning hanging on the refrigerator - that's not going to help anyone.
Your wife will pretty much never think it's funny or charming if you tip your imaginary top hat and say, "At your ser-vix." You want to realize that you're pretty much the least important thing in the room. It's your wife, the baby, the doctor, the nurse, the doula, if you have one. The air...
If your wife asks if everything is okay down there, just answer in the affirmative. Don't yell, "Better than ever!"
Pretty sound advice, really. If my husband had started cracking jokes while I was writhing in pain on the delivery room table... well, let's just say that wouldn't have ended well for him.
