Double stroller smackdown: City Mini GT Double vs. BOB Duallie
by Sabrina Garibian posted in Products
If you're about to have two stroller-aged kids you might be struggling to decide on a stroller. A lot of moms have trouble deciding between the City Mini GT Double and the BOB Duallie, so here is a comparison for you.
Both the BOB Duallie (Amazon, $543.99) and the City Mini GT Double (Amazon, $521.99) are side-by-side strollers. That means that two children sit next to one another and you push from behind. The BOB Duallie is marketed as a double jogging stroller and the City Mini GT Double is not. I own both strollers and use them both for different purposes.
Here's the rundown:
1. Pushing ease: Both strollers get major points for being easy to maneuver. The City Mini GT Double is different than the regular City Mini Double. The GT version has nice big wheels that provide a very smooth push. The City Mini GT Double fits through all standard doorways with ease. The BOB Duallie does not fit through a standard old doorway but does fit through most new doorways. I have only had trouble when trying to enter old Philadelphia buildings that do not adhere to current doorway standards. Winner: Tie
2. Tipping over: The BOB Duallie jumps the curb easily and has never tipped over. The City Mini GT Double has tipped over many times but only due to user error, like hanging too much stuff off the handlebar or by kids standing in their stroller seats and leaning back. By the way, neither brand suggests hanging anything off the handlebar for safety...
