The time has come to officially welcome Eddie Redmayne to the celebrity dads club! The 34-year-old actor and wife Hannah Bagshawe welcomed a delivery room surprise this past week -- and it's a girl!
Announcing the happy news via U.K.'s The Times newspaper, Eddie and Hannah shared their daughter was born on June 15 and has been given the name Iris Mary Redmayne.

Earlier in 2016, Eddie Redmayne spoke to People about becoming a first-time father, sharing, "I?m excited. But I don?t think it?s sunk in yet. We just bought our first baby book. So there?s the first step. We?re waiting to find out [the sex]. We want to be surprised. It will be a big surprise either way!" And as for his wife of two years, the The Danish Girl star gushed, "I think saint might be the word. She is an absolute saint."
Eddie, Hannah and Iris -- those names just seem to go together, don't they" I wonder if they couple had a boy's name also picked out just in case.
While the topic of finding out baby's sex during pregnancy used to come up regularly, the discussion seems to have quieted in recent years. I'm guessing it's because it's becoming more and more expected for couples to find out, but then again maybe it's because people are getting on board with the idea whatever parents choose is the right choice for them.
But that might just be wishful thinking.
