Experts warn hand dryers are high-speed poo particle sprayers

Say it ain't so! Well, I wish I could...but it's true. It appears that in an attempt to save the environment we silly humans have been spraying our newly-washed hands with poop air.
Earlier this month scientific journal Applied and Environmental Microbiology published a study that found our restroom hand dryers may actually be doing more harm than good.
In the study, scientists tested 36 restrooms throughout the University of Connecticut School of Medicine for a harmless strain of bacteria that was created in the school's lab. Not only were they shocked to find the harmless strain being blown from every single bathroom hand dryer, meaning it had made its way from a contained space to probably every single room throughout campus, they also found several pathogenic strains of bacteria being blown from dryers. Bad bacteria that could have only come from one place...you guessed it.
In an interview with Newsweek, Peter Setlow, one of the scientists conduction the study, stated,
?Bacteria in bathrooms will come from feces, which can be aerosolized a bit when toilets, especially lidless toilets, are flushed...Hand dryers suck up bathroom air and spew it out at speed. So, in the brief moments your hands rest below the nozzle, they?ll be exposed to far more air than usual?and far more bacteria.?
