Feel tethered to the house by your baby" Mindy Kaling does, too

A fed, changed, sleeping baby is a beautiful thing -- that can also feel like a ticking time bomb. Once you get all of your little one's needs met it's only a matter of time until the cycle begins again.
As a new mom I specifically remember dashing out the door once my son was satisfied in his car seat, knowing I had about three hours (give or take some kind of surprise meltdown) to get all the stuff done. Especially as a nervous breastfeeder, who struggled to get comfortable nursing in public, the race was on to get out and then back home.
It's a feeling first-time mom Mindy Kaling knows all too well. The actress, who showed up at the 2018 Met Gala looking like a royal queen, tells Shape: "I didn't realize how tethered to my house I would be as a new mom."
The mother of 5-month-old Katherine elaborated:
"I'd thought that I could bring the baby with me everywhere. I also couldn't quite believe that every three hours I needed to be home to feed her. I'd go on these little jaunts out of the house, and they'd feel like secret, illicit excursions. It was exciting, and it made my life seem kind of dramatic...
"I knew how much I would love her and love the experience of being with her. I never understood how much I would worry and how much that worry is unceasing.
