Got nausea" Make these frozen morning sickness lozenges
by Lindsay Weiss posted in Life
Last week I made these frozen lozenges for my sick kids. They were like the hit of the century and the only thing they would eat or drink for about 24 hours. As I was cleaning the ice cube trays it hit me...I would have given anything for a ginger ale version of these while pregnant.
I lived on ginger ale and raspberry lemonade (who knows why") during my first two trimesters, but often could only ingest it in small doses. So, while I made my kids' sick-day lozenges out of Powerade (that's what sounded good and they needed the electrolytes), I quickly made a batch with ginger ale and, you guessed it, raspberry lemonade to make sure they worked.
I really feel like these could be a pregnant mama's best friend. You could pop them in your mouth all day long to keep your tummy settled, and the frozen part is so soothing. And the best part: you can make them with whatever liquid sounds good to you!
Ginger ale, Sprite, juice...heck, I even tried these with a bottle of Starbucks Frappucino and they were divine. (And a great way to have a little coffee without going overboard.) They're great with yogurt too -- they make the cutest little frozen yogurt cubes. Just pour 'em in the tray and freeze for an hour. That's it!
I bought the ice cube trays on Amazon and highly recommend them because they're really small and rounded -- perfect lozenge size.
If you're going to make them with anything carbonated, do not fill the trays completely. The lozenge...
