Heading out with a toddler" Don't forget these things

My toddler is finally out of diapers and quickly approaching the preschool stage. Going out with him is easier in some ways now (we've ditched the diaper bag) and harder in others - like the fact that these days he has opinions, and he's not afraid to express them!
So although the diaper bag is long gone, when we walk out the door I still have to make sure I'm prepared with all those predictable things he'll be calling for at unpredictable (and sometimes inconvenient) times.
Here are 9 things I always bring with us when we're traveling with our toddler:
1. Snacks: If you remember nothing else ... snacks are possibly the single most important item to bring on a lengthy outing with kids!  When someone starts getting grumpy, a snack almost always turn things around. I never leave home without something easy and edible (like a pouch of apple sauce) in my bag.
2. Something to drink: Being thirsty can make kids just as cranky as being hungry. And it seems like there's never a working water fountain around when you need it.  To avoid running around  desperately searching for something to drink, pack your own. Water always works, or for kids who don't like water, Mott?s for Tots is a favorite with my kids.
3. Sippy cup: I always keep a sippy cup on hand because when my 3-year-old gets a juice box, most of it ends up on his shirt (and my car!) instead of in his mouth. I love that Playtex Sipsters have a double wall of i...
