Pregnancy and childbirth have not been easy for Kim Kardashian, which helps to explain why, according to sources, she and her husband Kanye West have hired a surrogate to carry their third child.
Not only was labor and delivery not exactly a breeze, but pregnancy doesn't exactly get rave reviews from the mom-of-two either.
"For me, pregnancy is the worst experience of my life!" Kim wrote on her blog when she was expecting her second child, son Saint. "I don?t enjoy one moment of it and I don?t understand people who enjoy it."
What's not to love" Well, Kim has her list of complaints: ?Maybe it?s the swelling, the backaches or just the complete mindf?k of how your body expands and nothing fits. I just always feel like I?m not in my own skin.? The reality star isn't alone in her less than glowing assessment of pregnancy - heck, I didn't exactly love it myself, though I wouldn't go so far as to say it was the worst experience of my life!
And then at the end of those nine long and clearly unpleasant months, childbirth was complicated for Kim by the fact that she had Placenta accreta, a condition in which the placenta grows into the wall of the womb.
?My doctor had to stick his entire arm in me and detach the placenta with his hand, scraping it away from my uterus with his fingernails. How disgusting and painful!!!? Kim wrote, calling it "the most painful experience" she's ever been through.
