How (and why!) this 8-year-old learned to drive from a YouTube tutorial

Last week, an 8-year-old boy took his younger sister on a drive to McDonald?s. Their parents were asleep, and the kids wanted cheeseburgers. Supposedly, the brother learned to drive by watching training videos on YouTube. This story serves as a great commentary on the world we live in today. Let?s unpack it, piece by piece.
First, the story took place at 8:00 p.m. on a Sunday, after the father had gone to bed early and the mother had fallen asleep on the couch. This is as authentic a parenting moment as you can get. Both parents are pass-out tired, and the kids want to go outside.

That?s our sedentary lifestyle and child obesity problem in a nutshell. Back in my day, we?d walk that distance uphill in our footie pajamas. We didn?t steal our parents? car unless we planned to cross state lines.
Finally, there?s the fact that the child learned how to drive by watching YouTube. Well of course he did. You can learn everything from YouTube, as long as you?re patient enough to sit through Geico ads and wise enough not to look at the comments.
The parents are lucky the kids used their YouTu...
