How to create a baby-friendly bathroom

The nursery is obviously the star of the show when it comes to baby spaces in your home. But the bathrooms" Probably a bit lower on the priority scale. If your house is like mine, the bathrooms are pretty boring and less than kid-friendly -- hard surfaces from floor to ceiling, blah colors, and an overall feeling completely opposite from what you'd like when you bring your little ones home from the hospital.
As a mom of three, I can tell you that putting love into your bathrooms to make them more baby-friendly (and eventually kid-friendly) is worth the effort. After all, you'll be spending a lot of time there in the coming years. Think carefully about your decor: While you might not be able to resist a themed bathroom filled with adorable undersea creatures or sweet baby ducks, keep in mind that it won't be long until your baby grows out of those things. Consider a color or pattern palette instead, then add in a few items that can be changed as your child grows.
