How to create a sensory play board for your active baby

Want to fascinate your baby" A sensory play board is a busy board that encourages your baby to see, touch, hear, and smell in a fun, safe way. The best ones even encourage your child to stand, play, move, and even talk to the board.
Your baby is curious and active all day long. She wants to practice standing , moving and exploring her environment during every moment of wake time. A sensory play board is perfect for this stage in her life.
My favorite sensory play boards include everyday items you'd find around the house as well as more typical colorful baby toys. Once you start looking around your house for items to use, you might be surprised how many perfect things you have just lying around.
Don't worry if you're not handy. I can hardly use a hammer or a glue stick and I still made a great one for my children. Here is how you, too can make a sensory play board:
1. Plan out your sensory play board ahead of time.
Create a list of what you might include. Search your house for those items or make a shopping list. Make a simple drawing plan of what your board might look like, just to get an idea of what you already have vs. what you need.
2. Make sure you have at least 2 items from the following sensory categories - sight, touch, smell, hear.
Many will overlap, but be sure to have a good mix to make the board interesting and effective.
