by Jamie Reed posted in Parenting
Has your angelic baby hit the dreaded 4-month sleep regression" No worries, you can totally survive this trying time by simply following these 5 easy steps.
Remember the good times
Look at that sleeping beauty!
Pull out the newborn photos and remind yourself how wonderful and precious your little one was is. How cute she looked the first time she smiled. How sweet he looked taking his first bath. How amazing you felt the first time they slept a solid six hours.
Cling to those memories.
Change your perspective
There was a time in your life when you would have loved and been totally rejuvenated by a a one- or two-hour nap. Even thirty minutes! Don't think of your baby's sleep regression as keeping you up all night, think of it as you getting to enjoy a series of (brief) naps throughout the night! "Be grateful for those naps, Mom. I can take them away as I so choose."
One-up your annoying co-worker
If your baby hit a growth spurt or a developmental "leap" at the same time as they entered this new sleep phase, count yourself lucky! Now the next time your co-worker wants to complain about how her baby "only" slept eight hours straight last night, you totally win. "Did your baby eat at 10, 10:30, 1:30, 2:15, 4:30, 6, and 7:30 this morning...
