I have 5 baby carriers -- here's what each is good for
by Kelly Wilbanks posted in Products
I became a little obsessed with baby carriers after I found out I was pregnant with my second baby. I wanted ONE that would work for each of my littles at every life stage AND work as a front carrier AND be strong enough to hold my 40-pound 2-year-old.
What I found is that different carriers have different uses. Duh! The mythic Holy Grail carrier that that would let me do all the things wasn't out there.
But I've tried many carriers, and IÂ love to share what I've learned (I'll even share my carriers if you live close enough). First, it's important to know what features will help you and your baby the most. Do your babies grow fast"Â Do you want to travel light and need a carrier with a deep pocket" Do you overheat"Â What is the problem you want your carrier to solve"
1. Problem Solved: Outward Facing -- Miamily
We love our Miamily carrier because it has an actual seat built in. That means that our baby is actually sitting rather than hanging off our bodies. It's the carrier we use for outward facing because our 5-month-old loves watching her sisters play.
I last wrote about it here two years ago and since then there have been some fabulous updates:
The seat opens now so you can store items.
The waist strap is larger for more ergonomic support.
The velcro on the waist strap is higher quality and doesn't snag your clothes.
There are strong buckles instead of snaps to secure pieces together.
We have really enjoyed ...
