I should have thought more about birth control when I was pregnant

My husband and I used to joke when I was pregnant that we were "two and through." As much as we love our son and daughter, we've always agreed that we only wanted to have two children.
When we had trouble conceiving my youngest child, we even determined that we'd be okay with just one. I've experienced some anxiety when thinking about getting pregnant again due to a rough pregnancy and challenging c-section. IÂ don't know how I would handle it.
During one of my last prenatal visits, my doctor brought up the subject of birth control. At the time, I was ready to pop and barely managing to make simple decisions. Deciding on the birth control method I would use was beyond the scope of what I could think about in the moment. She went on and on about different options. I could take a pill. I could get a shot. So many choices! I left her office that day without making a decision, and a week later when she brought it up again I felt like I should at least start thinking about it. I asked my friends and family on Facebook what they were using for birth control. My doctor had given me some pamphlets, so I read them and talked to my husband about what we should choose.
