If I could time travel, here's what I'd tell my scared pregnant self
by Jamie Reed posted in Parenting
As my baby turns 3 months old this week, I think about how quickly the time has passed (though some of those long nights felt more like years), I also think about how I wish I knew then what I do now.
I experienced so many doubts and fears during pregnancy, I was so scared of everything to come. If I could go back in time, here are a few things I?d love to tell my pregnant self.
One last photo before heading to the hospital.
You can totally give birth.
I know you?re terrified of all things doctor-y. Needles, blood, and hospitals in general. So having a baby is pretty much just a combination of ALL the terror. And everything you?re afraid of" You can do it. You're going to do it. It might require a lot of deep breathing and the occasional bout of hysterical crying, but the more things you face, the easier it will become. People have tried to scare you with their labor horror stories (why"), but don?t listen to them. Just listen to your body, your doctor, and know that it?s going to be over eventually. Remember, Labor and Delivery usually sees repeat customers, so you?re either going to be able to handle it like a pro, or not remember how bad it was later, just like everyone else! (And, not to ruin the surprise, your labor is actually going to be a piece of cake.)
Worth every poke and prod.
You?re just going to have to jump in head first.
I know how you hate when people ask if you?re ?ready? to have a baby. Is anyone actual...
