I?m a jerk mom and didn?t let my kids pick their Halloween costumes

I used to be a really great mom. No, no, wait. That was someone else. Okay, I used to aspire to be a really great mom. And now" Well, now I?m just smart enough to realize sometimes you can?t make everybody happy.
And this year for Halloween, it is not my kids? turn to be happy.
George, obviously not thrilled with his Halloween costume. However, in true good-mom form, I did let him pick if he wanted one or two eyes for his costume.
A month ago, I was blessed with several hours in a Target -- alone! And, because I am the world?s most okay-est mom, I spent the whole time buying diapers and wipes. With some time to spare, I checked out the costumes and agonized over the selection and quality of the available options. I refuse to spend $20-$30 on one costume made out of shoddy material, especially when I have to buy four. And, especially because temperatures in our area can reach the low 20s this time of year.
I decided I would make the boys? costumes like years past...
Then I had the genius idea of making all of them Minions. Adorable! They are all about the same size and I can just picture the townspeople going gaga over my litter of Bobs and Stuarts.
And while I'm seriously impressed with myself over my ingenuity, my kids are not happy. Frankie sometimes whines, ?But, Mom. I want to be a cowboy.? Or, on different days, he?ll say, ?But, Mom. I want to be a pumpkin.?
His flip-flopping wants make me feel a little less like a jerk....
