Kids in the Kitchen" Make some easy shamrock pretzels
by Lindsay Weiss posted in Life
My 9-Â and 4-year-old boys made these easy shamrock pretzels together yesterday. They are ideal for little hands and don't have to be perfect to look great. All you need are some pretzels, green candy melts, and sprinkles and you've got a mess in the kitchen great kid project!
(It did get a little messy with all the pretzel-dipping. Put down a disposable or washable tablecloth and you'll thank me.)
These are actually delicious, too. The green candy melts are vanilla-flavored, which complements the salty, crunchy pretzels. These are oddly addictive and so cute to look at!

Easy Shamrock Pretzels
I let the kids do all the dipping and assemble the shamrocks on a cookie sheet. Then I came through and drizzled a little extra in the centers so all the pretzels would adhere together.
Bag of mini pretzels
Wilton green candy melts
Gold sprinkles (Wilton made mine)
Line a large cookie sheet with waxed paper or silpat. Melt candy melts according to package directions. Dip three pretzels and shake off excess. Form in shamrock pattern on cookie sheet. Break off one small curved part of a pretzel to be the stem. Dip in candy melt, shake of excess, and place at base of shamrock. Use a small spoon to scoop additional candy melt and drizzle into center of shamrock to adhere pretzels together. Let harden completely.
