Calihan Gee was "instafamous" even before taking his first breath. Today, as an infant, he has 157,000 Instagram followers.
In a world that sees some parents going out of their way to keep images of their kids off social media entirely the Gee family has gone the opposite direction. Famous in their own right, "The Bucket List Family" that grew to over a million followers by documenting their world travels includes parents Jessica "Settie" and Garrett, daughter Dorothy, son Manilla, and newborn Calihan.
They're adorable globetrotters that know just how to put their lives in the spotlight.
If you're anything like me you didn't plan to watch anywhere near that long of a video about a family you don't even know, but somehow couldn't look away. It's suddenly apparent why they've reached this level of fame. But you also might feel a little conflicted about the idea of a baby being famous and having a following even before birth.
As someone who is now a mother of a teen and a tween, and has felt firsthand the intensity and quickness of which growing up can bring a need for privacy, I can't help but feel odd about this level of sharing. For example, realizing 127,000 people have watched Manilla trying to poop on a toilet. He has 132,000 Instagram followers. How many will be watching when newborn Calihan reaches the potty-training stage"
