Miracle baby: Woman conceives using sperm harvested from dead husband

Last May, Lenee Nicole Kehnt and her husband Jeremi were planning on trying for baby number two. That is, until the unthinkable happened: Jeremi died in a motorcycle accident.
Now, the California widow is due to deliver a miracle baby just ahead of the one-year anniversary of her husband's death. How" Sperm was harvested from Jeremi's body -- in procedure called postmortem sperm retrieval -- following his tragic accident. According to NBC Los Angeles, Kehnt's baby bump is only the fourth pregnancy to come from postmortem sperm retrieval by the Los Angeles cryobank. And her baby will be the third birth.
This pregnancy was made possible, in part, because of a series of text messages Jeremi had sent to his wife just weeks before his death. Part of their conversation read: "If for any reason I get in an accident and in a coma or brain dead, keep me on machines. Till I come back. And u can pull sperm from me then to have a girl. And u can move on if u wanted. Just saying."
To that, Lenee replied, "Why would you say that jeremi. What happened. Don't say that to me. [What's] the matter with u."
"I'm just saying," Jeremi texted back. "Planning on worst case scenario."
Kind of eerie, isn't it"Â It's almost like he had a premonition about his impending death.
Still, I wonder. In cases where a man's wishes aren't so directly written down, can a partner still initiate a postmortem sperm retri...
